Jae Hyun Byun: Spatial Transcriptomics and the Emerging Complexity of Plaque Vulnerability

Jae Hyun Byun, PhD Doctoral Research Trainee at Vascular Health Unit, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in ATVB, adding:

“We’re proud to share our latest publication in Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology (ATVB)!

By integrating CosMx spatial transcriptomics at single-cell and subcellular resolution, we challenge the idea that carotid plaque instability follows a single, uniform biology, but instead, may manifest differently between males and females.

A big thank you to the Vascular Health Unit and my supervisor Stella S. Daskalopoulou, the Bruker Spatial Biology team (Joe Beechem), the McGill Genome Centre (Ioannis (Jiannis) Ragoussis), and the RI-MUHC histopathology platform (Fazila C.) for their support and guidance!”
