79th World Health Assembly Approves Global Equity Resolution – EHC

European Haemophilia Consortiumn (EHC), shared a post on LinkedIn:

“The 79th World Health Assembly has adopted a landmark resolution on ‘Global action to advance health equity for people with haemophilia and other bleeding disorders’.

This is a major step toward improving earlier diagnosis, ensuring equitable access to care and treatment, recognising women and girls with bleeding disorders, and strengthening national health systems for rare bleeding disorders worldwide.

In Europe, significant disparities in access to diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive care persist both between and within countries.

The European Union (EU) has a critical role to play in closing these gaps.

The European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC) calls on the EU and its Member States to translate this global commitment into concrete action by strengthening rare disease policies, ensuring sustainable and equitable access to innovative therapies, and supporting coordinated, high-quality care across Europe.

EHC welcomes this momentum and stands with the international community in advancing sustainable, inclusive, and patient-centred care across Europe and beyond!”
