Zoya Surayya: My Thesis on Anticoagulation After Ischemic Stroke
Zoya Surayya, Student Member at European Academy of Neurology, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“On 11th May, I successfully defended my M.D. thesis, titled ‘Anticoagulation after ischemic stroke: start, restart, or replace — when and what?’
Under the guidance of Dr. László Csiba, I studied the existing literature on the secondary prevention of cardiogenic stroke with anticoagulant therapy, and compared international guidelines to clarify points of consensus and areas of potential improvement.
Gaining experience in this highly important field of cerebrovascular medicine was a highlight of my last year of medical school.
I am eternally grateful to Dr. Csiba for his kind guidance and unflinching support throughout the process!
Additionally, I am thankful to my opponents Dr. Klára Fekete from neurology and Dr. Judit Barta from cardiology for their comments and especially to Dr. Oláh and the Neurology department for their support.”
