David McIntosh: Do Current Global Blood and Plasma Systems Provide the Care Patients Deserve?
David McIntosh, Founder and Chair of United Plasma Action, shared a post by Global Anemia and Patient Blood Management on LinkedIn:
“Global Blood and Plasma Supplies…..Don’t Patients deserve better?
Parts 1 and 2 of this series outlined the World’s significant under-performance in blood and plasma collection and the fatal consequences for millions of patients, worldwide.
The aspiration here is to stimulate further discussion among practitioners, influencers and decision-makers in the Blood and Plasma fields, in the hope of reaching agreement on new approaches to our global problem, with the shared goals of ensuring that:
- All patients have access to life-saving medicines
so that
- Unnecessary suffering and avoidable mortality are eliminated asap
It is devoutly hoped, dear reader, that future editions will incorporate your feedback and further comments ….. Thank you!”
