Rabi Hanna: Gene Therapy Is Transforming Sickle Cell Disease

Rabi Hanna, Chairman, Department of Pediatric hematology-oncology and BMT at Cleveland Clinic Children’s at Cleveland Clinic, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Today, on World Sickle Cell Day, I had the distinct honor of speaking at the Dutch Sickle Cell event in Amsterdam.

A special thank you to Erfan Nur for the invitation and the opportunity to join this critical conversation. It is a privilege to present an update on the rapidly evolving landscape of sickle cell gene therapy

While the scientific advancements we are seeing are groundbreaking, our work is far from finished.

The true measure of our success will be ensuring that these potentially curative treatments are accessible to everyone who needs them, regardless of geography or socioeconomic status.

Thank you to the Dutch SCD community for hosting such an inspiring event. Let’s continue pushing the boundaries of science while fighting for equitable care.”
