Osman Eladani: How Do We Optimize Bleeding Risk Management in Elective Surgery?

Osman Eladani, Former General Practitioner at Meena Health, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Cureus, adding:

“I’m delighted to share that our systematic review, ‘Bleeding Risk Assessment and Management Strategies for Elective Surgery and Invasive Procedures: A Systematic Review,’ has been published in PubMed-indexed Cureus.

This review evaluates current evidence on perioperative bleeding risk assessment and hemostatic management strategies in patients with inherited and acquired bleeding disorders undergoing elective surgery and invasive procedures.

This work highlights the importance of structured bleeding history, individualized risk stratification, and evidence-based perioperative planning to improve patient safety and surgical outcomes.

It also identifies key gaps in the literature and emphasizes the need for standardized management pathways and future prospective research.

I am honored to have contributed to this collaborative international research effort alongside a dedicated team of colleagues and co-authors.”
