Mattia Liverani։ AHA Highlights New Approaches in Iron Deficiency Management

Mattia Liverani, President and Country Manager at Pharmanutra USA Corp., shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Kimberly Howard-Quijano et al., published in Circulation:

The American Heart Association has just published a new Scientific Statement on Perioperative Anemia and Patient Blood Management in Cardiac Surgery.
One section immediately caught my attention:

‘A sucrosomial-bound oral iron formulation shows promise for more rapid iron repletion than standard oral treatments and may represent an alternative to traditional enteral iron formulations.’

As someone committed to advancing evidence based solutions for iron deficiency, it’s encouraging to see Sucrosomial Iron technology recognized in a scientific statement from one of the world’s leading cardiovascular organizations.

The statement also reinforces the importance of identifying and treating iron deficiency and anemia as part of comprehensive Patient Blood Management (PBM) strategies, both before and after cardiac surgery, with the goal of improving patient outcomes while helping reduce unnecessary blood transfusions.

Scientific progress is driven by high quality clinical evidence, and it’s exciting to see innovative oral iron technologies becoming part of the conversation in modern perioperative care.”
