World Blood Donor Day 2026 Celebrations at Blood Centre, Rela Hospital
The Department of Transfusion Medicine, Rela Hospital, proudly celebrated World Blood Donor Day 2026, bringing together voluntary blood donors, camp organizers, supporters, and healthcare professionals to honor the lifesaving impact of blood donation.
The day began with a vibrant Donor Engagement Program, featuring interactive activities that promoted awareness, participation, and community spirit while celebrating the selfless act of blood donation.
The afternoon Donor Appreciation Ceremony recognized the invaluable contributions of our voluntary blood donors and blood donation camp organizers.
We were honored by the presence of our esteemed leaders—Dr. Gauthaman, Medical Director; Mr. Farouk, Chief Operating Officer; Dr. Ajay, Deputy Medical Superintendent; Dr. Mukul Vij, Laboratory Director; Dr. Ashwin Rammohan, Academic Director; and Dr Deepti Sachan, Clinical Lead, Transfusion Medicine—whose words of encouragement reinforced the importance of voluntary blood donation.
A special highlight of the event was the honoring of dedicated donors and organizers, followed by inspiring testimonials that showcased the profound impact of blood donation initiatives on our community.
A collective pledge for voluntary blood donation, led by Dr. Gauthaman and Dr. Deepti Sachan, reaffirmed our commitment to fostering a culture of regular voluntary blood donation and ensuring a safe and sustainable blood supply for patients in need.
As part of the World Blood Donor Day awareness week celebrations, winners of the Quiz Competition and Bottle Art Competition were felicitated and awarded prizes for their creativity and enthusiastic participation.
The celebrations concluded with a joyful cake-cutting ceremony, marking a day of gratitude, recognition, and shared commitment to saving lives through blood donation.”
