Nicolas Hubacz: A Sharper Look at the Brain’s Vascular Landscape

Nicolas Hubacz, Research and Clinical Products Business Development Manager at Magstim, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“A Sharper Look at the Brain’s Vascular Landscape

Not all parts of the brain receive blood flow in the same way.

This animation shows how ultra-high-field ASL perfusion MRI can capture those differences across the brain in much greater detail.

Built using data from Loft Lab, it highlights the power of ultra-high-field arterial spin labeling (ASL) perfusion MRI to map cerebral blood flow with far greater spatial detail than conventional imaging.

The Importance:

  • Perfusion MRI measures how blood is delivered to brain tissue
  • Ultra-high-field imaging improves spatial resolution and sensitivity
  • This helps researchers visualize blood flow patterns across cortical, subcortical, and white matter regions with much greater clarity

Tools like this could help researchers better understand how perfusion changes in the healthy brain – and how those patterns shift in neurological disease, aging, and injury.”
