Ana Raquel Gotine: The First Pragmatic Clinical Trial on MNPs and Childhood Anemia in Mozambique

Ana Raquel Gotine, PhD at University of São Paulo, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleague co-authored, published in Maternal and Child Nutrition, adding:

“I am pleased to share the publication of the first pragmatic clinical trial conducted in Mozambique to evaluate the effectiveness of Multiple Micronutrient Powders (MNPs) in improving hemoglobin levels and reducing childhood anemia.

This study provides important local evidence to support nutrition interventions aimed at addressing one of the most persistent public health challenges affecting children in Mozambique.

The findings contribute to the growing body of evidence on the role of MNPs in improving child health and nutrition outcomes.

I invite colleagues, researchers, nutritionists, and public health professionals to read the article and share their perspectives on its implications for child nutrition programs and policies in Mozambique and other low-resource settings.”
