Mubariz Ahsan: Trends in Stroke Mortality in Peripheral Artery Disease from CDC WONDER Study

Mubariz Ahsan, Research Assistant at Rahmah Academy of Research Excellence, Co-Founder at OculaRIS, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Stroke, adding:

”Proud to share that our abstract has been published in Stroke, an American Heart Association journal, for the International Stroke Conference 2026.

Our study, titled ‘Trends and Disparities in Stroke-Related Mortality Among Adults with Peripheral Artery Disease in the United States: A CDC WONDER Analysis (1999–2023)’, explores long-term mortality trends and disparities in a high-risk population.

Grateful to my co-authors and mentors for their support, collaboration, and guidance throughout this work. This project was a valuable learning experience and a reminder of how meaningful clinical research can be when it focuses on real-world public health gaps.

Looking forward to continuing work that contributes to evidence-based medicine and better patient outcomes.”
