Carlo Alfieri: Redefining Anemia Management After Kidney Transplantation

Carlo Alfieri, Editor-in-Chief of GCND, Associate Professor at the University of Milan., shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in GCND, adding:

“I am pleased to share our latest publication in the Journal of Clinical Nephrology and Dialysis:

‘Rethinking Anemia Management After Kidney Transplant’

Post-transplant anemia remains one of the most frequent and clinically relevant complications after kidney transplantation, with important implications for graft function, cardiovascular risk, and patient survival. In this review, we provide an updated overview of its pathophysiology and current therapeutic strategies, with particular attention to the emerging role of HIF-prolyl hydroxylase inhibitors (HIF-PHIs) in the management of kidney transplant recipients.

As editor in chief of the journal, I am committed to promoting high-quality scientific research and stimulating discussion on clinically relevant topics in nephrology and transplantation.

I warmly encourage colleagues to consider GCND for the submission of their original articles, reviews, short communications, and clinical experiences, helping to further strengthen our scientific community.”
