Sung-mok Jung: How Environmental Drivers Influence SFTS Occurrence
Sung-mok Jung, Senior Research Fellow at National University of Singapore, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Epidemiologic Reviews, adding:
“I am delighted to share that our systematic review on the role of environmental drivers of Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (SFTS) has been published in Epidemiologic Reviews.
In this review, we synthesise the current evidence on how environmental factors influence SFTS occurrence, highlight the inconsistencies in the existing literature, and discuss key priorities for future research.
This review also provides the foundation for two ongoing projects from our group: an epidemiological study characterising SFTS in South Korea and a forecasting study integrating environmental risk with predictive modelling.
I am excited to continue advancing SFTS research through the growing global SFTS research network, with a particular focus on understanding transmission dynamics and improving forecasting approaches through international and interdisciplinary collaboration!”
