Peter Jaworski: Grateful to Win the 2026 Plasma Hero Award at Immune Deficiency Foundation Conference

Peter Jaworski, Teaching Professor at Georgetown University, shared a post on LinkedIn:

”On the last day of the Immune Deficiency Foundation conference, I was given the 2026 Plasma Hero Award for my work encouraging more and better plasma collection.

It’s hard to express how grateful I am for the award.

Also, Leisha and I bumped into Bella who is a Master’s student in education at BGSU (where we did our PhDs), a plasma donor, and big sister to Thomas, a zebra.

And then I met Josh who grew up with Leisha in Iowa (they went to high school together) and whose wife Mackenzie was (finally) diagnosed with CVID last year.

I met Mark, who was one of the very first PI patients to try immunoglobulin replacement therapy in 1982.

He was in the Phase 2 trial. ‘I had no choice,’ he said.

Since one person asked to see all the zebra-themed swag, I’m including a photo of all the things you will see in my Zoom background.”
