Benjamin YQ Tan: Exploring the Heart-Brain-Thrombosis Continuum

Benjamin YQ Tan, Stroke Neurologist and Brain Health Researcher at National University Health System, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Together with Professor Tsivgoulis Georgios and Professor JoonNyung Heo, I’m delighted to be serving as an Editor for this special collection in the Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis.

Heart, Brain, and Clot: Emerging Perspectives on Thrombosis

This collection aims to bring together cutting-edge research at the intersection of cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, and thrombosis—an area where advances in translational science are rapidly reshaping clinical practice.

We welcome submissions including:

  • Cardioembolic stroke and ESUS
  • Atrial cardiopathy and atrial fibrillation detected after stroke (AFDAS)
  • Heart–brain interactions across cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease
  • Biomarkers, multimodal imaging, and vascular biology
  • Antithrombotic therapies and secondary prevention
  • Precision medicine, artificial intelligence, and emerging translational approaches

We invite original research, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, translational studies, and expert consensus statements that advance our understanding of thrombosis across the heart–brain continuum.

Submission deadline: 1 October 2026

If you are conducting research in stroke, cardiology, thrombosis, vascular medicine, neurology, imaging, or translational science, we would be delighted to consider your work.

More information about the collection can be found here:

We look forward to receiving your submissions and showcasing outstanding work from researchers across the globe.”
