Michelle Leona Cecil: A Visit Home to Wisconsin Highlighted the Power of Partnership in Bleeding Disorders Care
Michelle Leona Cecil, Community Digital Advocate at MicroHealth, WFH Susan Skinner Memorial Fund Scholarship Advisory and Selection Committee Member, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Last week, I had the opportunity to combine two things that are incredibly meaningful to me: spending time with family in Wisconsin and visiting bleeding disorders treatment centers across the state.
There’s something special about returning to a place that helped shape who you are while also getting to do work you’re passionate about.
Each clinic visit was a chance to listen, learn, and explore how we can better support both healthcare teams and the people living with bleeding disorders.
The conversations at Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin and the Hemophilia Outreach of Wisconsin Inc reinforced something I believe deeply: innovation is only valuable when it’s built around the needs of the community.
Hearing ideas, challenges, and opportunities directly from providers helps us continue improving the free, secure, and independent Microhealth (digital hematology) platform for patients and treatment centers alike.
I’m grateful to everyone who welcomed me into their clinics, shared their perspectives, and took the time to connect.
Thank you for your partnership and your commitment to improving care every day.
And of course, getting to end the day with family made the trip even more meaningful.
It’s always nice to go ‘home’ for a reunion with my grandma, mom, aunt, sisters, niece, and nephews.
