Bartosz Hudzik: Clinical Guidelines for Bleeding Risk During Bronchoscopy
Bartosz Hudzik, Associate Profesor at Medical University of Silesia, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“New Guidelines from the Polish Society of Lung Diseases in Advances in Respiratory Medicine!
I am pleased to announce the publication of the guidelines entitled ‘Guidelines for minimizing bleeding risk during bronchoscopic procedures’ in the journal Advances in Respiratory Medicine.
The document was developed by a multidisciplinary expert panel of the Polish Society of Lung Diseases (PTChP) – comprising pulmonologists, a thoracic surgeon, a haematologist, an anaesthesiologist, and a cardiologist – and contains 13 recommendations and good clinical practice statements on the safe performance of bronchoscopy in patients:
- with thrombocytopaenia
- receiving antiplatelet therapy (including DAPT)
- treated with oral anticoagulants (VKA, DOAC)
- receiving low-molecular-weight heparin
The recommendations were developed using the GRADE methodology, based on a systematic review of the literature, addressing specific clinical questions in PICO format.
It is both an honour and a pleasure to collaborate with such a distinguished group of experts.”
