The recognition of eleven recipients of the Susan Skinner Memorial Fund (SSMF) Scholarship at the WFH 2026 World Congress is far more than a celebration of individual achievement-it is a testament to the growing leadership of women in the global bleeding disorders community.
The scholarship program aims to develop future leaders who will strengthen advocacy, education, research, and equitable access to care for women and girls with inherited bleeding disorders.
Women are no longer merely participants in the conversation; they are shaping international policies, advancing scientific research, improving clinical practice, and driving meaningful change within their countries and across the world.
As a hematologist, I strongly believe that sustainable progress in hemostasis depends on investing in leadership, scientific excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the empowerment of women who transform knowledge into action.
