Brian A Beh: A New Approach from The George Institute for Global Health Could Transform Stroke Care Before Hospital Arrival

Brian A Beh, Honorary Consumer Fellow at The George Institute for Global Health, shared on LinkedIn:

”Researchers at The George Institute for Global Health are inviting stroke survivors, carers, and community members to help develop an innovative new treatment for stroke.

This proposed treatment would be delivered by paramedics in the ambulance on the way to hospital.

Its unique benefit is the ability to quickly determine whether a stroke is caused by bleeding in the brain.

With this knowledge available immediately, paramedics would be able to begin the appropriate treatment while en route, rather than waiting until arrival at the hospital.

This has the potential to significantly improve outcomes for stroke patients.

More details about registration and participation are in my blog.”
