David Smadja: What a Week in this Parisian Edition of the ISTH
David Smadja, Professor of Hematology (PU-PH) at Paris Cité University, European Georges Pompidou Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) 2026 is coming to an end… What a week!
This Parisian edition of the ISTH once again showed all the richness of our discipline.
We talked about endothelium, thrombosis, hemocompatibility, mechanical circulatory support and anticoagulant… So far, nothing surprising. 😉
But this year, we also talked about… medical misinformation.
Seeing this subject find its place in the world’s largest congress dedicated to hemostasis and thrombosis is a strong signal.
Producing knowledge is essential; knowing how to transmit them reliably is just as important.
A huge thank you to all my team, who were present in force throughout the week, for their energy, their presentations, their posters, their scientific discussions and their enthusiasm. Science is above all a collective adventure.
See you at the next edition!”
