A Novel Peptide Strategy to Prevent Surface-Triggered Thrombosis – JTH

Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared on LinkedIn about a recent article by Adam Hansen et al, adding:

”Peptide-mediated inhibition of surface-initiated thrombogenesis

A designed peptide, P12, blocked thrombus formation triggered by artificial surfaces while leaving normal clotting intact.

In testing, it curbed surface-initiated thrombogenesis without impairing physiological hemostasis.

The authors see translational promise for treating device-related thrombosis and for engineering antithrombotic surfaces and coatings that resist clotting without raising bleeding risk.”
