Ron Vezina: Canadian Blood Services Issues Urgent Donation Appeal
Ron Vezina, Vice-President of Donor Engagement and Corporate Reputation at Canadian Blood Services, shared Canadian Blood Services’ post on LinkedIn:
“Blood supply across Canada has dropped 20 percent in last 6 weeks – hospital patients are counting on your donations now – not later.
Please donate if you can – there are thousands of open appointments across the country, with more beds, hours and locations for your convenience.
Download the GiveBlood app or go to blood.ca to find a donor center near you.
There has never been a better time to experience what you get when you give.
Please share this message.”
Canadian Blood Services shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Donors, we need you.
There is an immediate need for donors.
As Canadians enjoy summer, blood donation appointments have declined — but the need for blood hasn’t.
Blood supply has decreased nearly 20 percent since June 1, and patient care could be impacted if this trend is not reversed.
We’re asking people across the country to help replenish the supply and support the patients who rely on blood and plasma every day.
More donation opportunities, including additional weekend appointments and expanded whole blood donation appointments available in plasma donor centres, are now open.
If you’re eligible, now is the time to fill every donation chair.
Your donation ensures lifesaving essentials are available for everyday care and unexpected emergencies.
Book today at blood.ca, through the GiveBlood app, or call 1‑888‑2‑DONATE.”
