Marwa Mohsen: Proud to Contribute to WHO’s Blood Safety Harmonization Efforts

”I’m proud to share that my WHO Working Group on Harmonizing Terminology in Blood Safety presented our progress at the 39th International ISBT Congress held in Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia .
As part of the WHO Advisory Group on Blood Regulation, Availability and Safety [AG BRAS], our working party that was established in 2022 addressed a critical gap: inconsistent definitions undermine the comparability of global blood safety data.
Definitely Clear, harmonized terminology is essential for reliable monitoring, data exchange, and interoperability as health systems become increasingly digital. Without harmonization of terminologies ,we can’t compare data, learn from each other, or respond quickly in emergencies.
It was an honor to contribute to this global effort to improve the consistency and safety of blood products worldwide.
Honored to be part of this WHO advisory group representing Egypt and upper Africa since 2021 and to work with experts from around the world on this.
