Lorenzo Scalia: New Review Highlights Anticoagulant Strategies for Elderly Patients With Atrial Fibrillation

Lorenzo Scalia, Interventional Cardiologist at Ospedale Umberto Primo, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in American Journal of Cardiology, adding:

”I am pleased to share our latest work, recently published in American Journal of Cardiology: ‘Anticoagulant regimen for non-valvular atrial fibrillation in the elderly and frail population.’

In this paper, we summarize the current evidence on anticoagulant therapy in elderly and frail patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, highlighting the benefits of DOACs, the importance of tailored treatment, and emerging strategies to optimize stroke prevention while minimizing bleeding risk.”
