Emicizumab and Breastfeeding New Clinical Evidence – JTH
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Simon Alexander Krooss et al., adding:
“Transfer of emicizumab into breast milk in postpartum acquired hemophilia A
Acquired hemophilia A can arise postpartum, and emicizumab is increasingly used for prophylaxis, yet whether it passes into breast milk was unknown.
In a woman who developed AHA four months after delivery, emicizumab reached up to 20 μg/mL in breast milk against a steady-state plasma level of 42 μg/mL.
Anti-FVIII antibodies appeared in plasma but not milk.”
