Kellie Machlus: Postdoc Opening in Translational Hematology at BCH/HMS

Kellie Machlus, Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Postdoc plot twist: we have an opening!

We have room for one postdoctoral fellow to join my lab at Boston Children’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School.

If you get excited about:

  • Megakaryocytes that do more than just make platelets
  • DNA damage and cell cycle regulation or
  • Immunomodulatory megakaryocytes and their crosstalk with the marrow microenvironment

…then you might enjoy spending your days with us arguing about lineage commitment, troubleshooting flow cytometry panels, and trying to convince stubborn cells to cooperate in organoids.

A few things about the position:

  • Start date: Fall 2026 (flexible within reason)
  • Environment: collaborative team, translational hematology/hematopoiesis focus, lots of data and high expectations but also lots of coffee and snacks
  • Methods: flow cytometry, imaging, molecular/cell biology, omics, bone marrow models; enthusiasm for learning new techniques is as important as prior experience
  • Looking for someone who: Loves and has experience in hematology, hematopoiesis, DNA damage, immunology, or stem cell biology.

If this sounds like your kind of scientific adventure, send me a message here or email your CV and a brief statement of interests.”
