Antoinette Gawin: Turning Innovation Into Action for America’s Blood Supply
Antoinette Gawin, President and Chief Executive Officer at Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Behind every blood shortage statistic is a patient waiting for care.
As the American Red Cross declares its second-ever national blood supply crisis, blood centers need every available tool to help strengthen operations and serve patients.
The FDA’s decision to reduce review timelines for future implementations of the Reveos Automated Blood Collection System from 12 months or longer to as little as 30 days is an important step forward.
Blood can’t wait. Faster access to innovation helps blood centers spend less time navigating approvals and more time supporting the communities that depend on them.
I’m grateful to the FDA, AABB, America’s Blood Centers, and everyone who helped make this progress possible.”
