Maha Othman: Celebrating Research and Collaboration at the Sinclair Cancer Research Institute 2026 Annual Retreat
Maha Othman, Co-Chairman SSC on Disseminated Intravascular Coagulopathy at International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Professor at Queen’s, St. Lawrence and Mansoura University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Proud to celebrate the research and collaboration showcased at the Sinclair Cancer Research Institute 2026 Annual Retreat!
It was wonderful to see my trainees from Queen’s University and St. Lawrence College contribute through two poster presentations by Jordan Harry (with poster award) George Ilbawi , as well as a engaging flash talk by Yousra Tera.
Jordan: Global Incidence of Venous Thromboembolism by Hematological Malignancy Subtype – a Systematic Review.
George: Enhancing the Feasibility of Prediction of Cancer Associated Thromboses Using Machine Learning.
Yousra: Improving Blood Clot Risk Assessment for Women with Cancer Receiving Chemotherapy.
Thanks to our clinician collaborators Kingston Health Sciences Centre.
We are excited to continue growing our efforts to improve thrombosis risk assessment and personalized prevention of cancer-associated thrombosis, with a particular focus on women with cancer, while advancing this important area of research more broadly.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
Thank you to the Queen’s Sinclair Cancer Research Institute team bringing the research community together.
Special thanks to Jacquline Silva and Maureen Hobbs for all the amazing organization and work behind the scenes!
Also amazing to be able to chat with colleagues and senior founders.”
