Merlin Crossley: Atomic Precision in Sickle Cell Care – Structural Targeting for Fetal Globin Reactivation

Merlin Crossley, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Quality at UNSW, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Precision Medicine: Progress in science often comes from increasing precision.

In medicine precision improves diagnosis and treatment.

In my field – Sickle Cell Anemia – we now have a molecular understanding of the problem and atomic level treatments are being explored.

This is my latest commentary in the journal Blood about targeting protein domains to boost fetal globin repression.

At UNSW we are committed to Precision and Computational Medicine and believe that connecting our strengths in computing, engineering, molecular biology, and health will help drive further progress!”
