BMC Cancer, adding:
“I am very excited to share this important patient-reported international study finally published last week.
I had the privilege of co-authoring it and co-presenting it in a 2024 ASH poster session with Thomas LeBlanc, MD.
The interviews reflect both the perceived and experienced impacts of transfusion dependence in myelofibrosis patients living with anemia.
While clearly being dependent on blood transfusions is a significant emotional, physical and financial burden, the patient voices here bring light to the stress and anxiety of simply knowing you could become transfusion dependent – even if you have never needed one.
A personal thanks to all those affected by MF who participated.
