Muhammad Shahid: New Publication on a Multifunctional Hydrogel for Enhanced Hemostasis

Muhammad Shahid, Doctor of Philosophy – PhD of Biophysics at Northwest A&F University, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Biomacromolecules, adding:

“I am delighted to share our recent work published in Biomacromolecules (ACS Publications), Q1 (IF is 5.9).

‘pH-responsive multinetwork hydrogel with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and microenvironment-modulating properties for enhanced hemostasis and wound healing.’

In this study, we developed a multifunctional hydrogel platform to simultaneously address hemorrhage, bacterial infection, oxidative stress, and inflammation during wound healing.

Rather than functioning as a passive dressing, the hydrogel was designed to actively modulate the wound microenvironment and immune response.

I am sincerely grateful to all collaborators, mentors, and colleagues whose contributions shaped this work. Science is rarely the achievement of an individual; it is a collective journey shaped by curiosity, uncertainty, persistence, and collaboration. Every study is simply one step toward understanding something a little better.”
