Scott Isaacs: Obesity Is Not Only a Cardiometabolic Disease
Scott Isaacs, Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and Past President of American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE), shared a post on X about a recent article by Cali M. McEntee et al., published in Nature Reviews Neurology, adding:
”Obesity is not only a cardiometabolic disease.
It is also a brain health issue.
This excellent new review highlights the association of obesity, particularly in midlife, with cognitive decline and dementia risk, and explores the roles of insulin resistance, inflammation and vascular dysfunction.”
