A great piece in the national newspaper the Mirror this week to mark the 20th anniversary in England since the NHS completed the rollout of sickle cell screening for new born babies.
Our brilliant storytellers featured include Caz Fyneface, a 23 year old law graduate who was diagnosed with sickle cell disorder as part of the first generation who received the screening, Yann Elie Asket, 22, who was inspired to register to donate blood as a result of his cousin Faith passing away due to complications with sickle cell and the talented Nikki Fagbemi who recently took her one woman play about living with sickle cell, to Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
