“Renal vein thrombosis (RVT) occurs when a blood clot forms in the veins responsible for draining blood from the kidneys, potentially reducing blood flow and affecting kidney function.
Because renal function can influence anticoagulant selection and dosing, assessing kidney function is an important part of diagnosis and treatment.
Timely anticoagulation can help resolve the clot, preserve kidney function and reduce complications.
