Aref Bin Abdulhak: Diminishing Benefit of IVUS-Guided PCI Over Time – A 23-RCT Meta-Analysis
Aref Bin Abdulhak, Director and Interventional Cardiologist at Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, shared a post on X about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in European Heart Journal, adding:
“New in EHJ_Open: Our meta-analysis of 23 RCTs (21,176 pts) shows IVUS-guided PCI reduces MACE, revascularization, and stent thrombosis, but this benefit is attenuating over time as contemporary angiographic technique improves (β=+0.034/yr, P=.004).”
