Alexandra Rickard: One Donation Can Make All the Difference

“Blood donors Dublin
This Sunday (tomorrow) the Dolier St. location is taking Sunday appointments to boost stocks.
- It doesn’t take up too much of your time
- You get two hours free parking if you donate (parking location fleet st. I think)
- Every nurse and reception team member is so sound, you’re guaranteed at least one laugh
- You’ll get some sweets and fizzy drinks
- You will get a txt to say where your blood went; Galway, Cork, Dublin, Limerick etc.
- If you have never donated before there is a quiz you can do on their website (very quick) to see if you are able to donate.
And most importantly you could need it one day. I hope you never need to utilise this gift so many freely give every 3 months.
But someone always will
My Grandmother was a donor; an ambulance would arrive to her house randomly to bring her in to donate for someone in need as her blood type was rare, I like to think I’m carrying on her tradition.
