Azusa Nagao: The Evolving Burden of Haemophilia Prophylaxis
Azusa Nagao, Lecturer at Department of Hematology-Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in Haemophilia, adding:
“Our 5-year prospective data from ADVANCE Japan are now published!
Since 2020, prophylaxis has become less burdensome, with a significant reduction in weekly treatment frequency, largely reflecting the impact of emicizumab.
However, bleeding rates appear to have plateaued.
Even with modern prophylaxis, bleeding remains an important burden for adults with haemophilia.”
