”Deep vein thrombosis causes, signs and management:
Deep vein thrombosis, or DVT, means a blood clot forms in a deep vein, most commonly in the leg.
It can cause leg pain, swelling, warmth, redness, and tenderness.
The major danger is that part of the clot can travel to the lungs and cause pulmonary embolism, which can be life-threatening.
Core clinical features Swelling in one leg, ankle, or foot Pain or tenderness, often in the calf or thigh
Warmth over the affected area Red, bluish, or darker skin color may occur.
Common signs – Calf pain while walking or standing
One leg looks larger than the other Tight, heavy, or aching feeling in the leg Some people may have very mild symptoms or no obvious symptoms.
Common causes
Slow blood flow due to immobility.”
