Umar Mansuri: Can Micronutrient Powders Help Reduce Childhood Anemia?
Umar Mansuri, Medical Intern at GMERS Medical College – India, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in IJCMPH, adding:
“A Research Milestone – Publication
I’m delighted to share that our review article, ‘Effectiveness of micronutrient powder intervention in reducing anemia among children under six years of age: a rapid review,’ has been published in the International Journal of Community Medicine and Public Health, 2026;13(10):6193–6199.
This rapid review synthesized evidence from 12 studies on the effectiveness of micronutrient powder (MNP) interventions in children under six.
The review found improvements in hemoglobin levels and anemia prevalence, particularly with iron-inclusive formulations and good adherence.
It also highlighted the importance of program delivery and community health-worker involvement.
I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and sincere thanks to all my co-authors for their incredible teamwork, dedication and support throughout this journey.
Congratulations to the entire team!
Looking forward to learning more, collaborating with others, and contributing to evidence-based healthcare.”
