Counting Down to WTD With a Focus on Thrombosis in Pregnancy
World Thrombosis Day shared a post on LinkedIn:
Blood clot risk is often underrecognized, and earlier recognition can save lives. World Thrombosis Day (WTD) is just 13 days away on October 13.
Here’s how you can help raise awareness in your community for WTD:
Learn from the experts. Register for the WTD 2026 webinar to hear researchers and clinicians examine current evidence on thrombotic risk in pregnancy.
Put resources where people will see them. Download posters and patient flyers to share at your hospital, clinic, office or community.
Follow the countdown. The 13-day social media series, supported by Regeneron shares a daily fact about blood clot risks.
Understand cancer-associated thrombosis. The Blood Clot Busters video series, created with LEO Pharma, discusses common myths about blood clots and cancer.
Make it your own. Create a profile frame or design a social post at the WTD Design Hub.
Engage local media. Customize the press release with information from your organization or region. Partners are welcome to use the press release as a template. Use it to connect reporters with events and activities in your area.

Register today: World Thrombosis Day webinar: Managing thrombotic risk in pregnancy: How the lab may help perspective
Pregnancy brings major changes to the body, including changes in how it manages clotting risk. But how can we better identify that risk, manage it and ultimately help prevent blood clots?
Join us for an engaging webinar, supported by Sysmex, to explore thrombotic risk before, during and after pregnancy. The conversation will focus from the perspectives of laboratory testing, clinical care and prevention.
Jim Douketis, M.D., ISTH Council Member and Chair of the WTD campaign, shares the clinical perspective. Prof. Beverley Hunt, M.D., ISTH Council Member and Vice Chair of the Global Public Affairs Committee, brings her expertise in thrombosis and pregnancy and her experience as a former WTD Chair. Andreas Rechner, Ph.D., Sysmex, provides the laboratory and diagnostics perspective and moderates the discussion.
Together, they’ll explore what we know, where the gaps remain and how understanding of thrombotic risk could help improve care for women during pregnancy.
Pre-register by October 6 for early access to the webinar. The webinar premieres to the public on October 12.
