Joseph Aslan։ Targeting Mitochondrial Permeability Transition To Reduce Platelet Thrombogenicity

Joseph Aslan, Associate Professor at Oregon Health and Science University, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Blood, adding:

”Happy to share our paper, now online as a Blood First Edition article, led by graduate student Yiheng Zhang.

We characterized small molecule inhibitors of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP) that selectively suppress platelet procoagulant activity and limit thrombosis while preserving key platelet functions, including aggregation and secretion.

Grateful to Yiheng, Jordan, Vrishank, Moua Yang, Owen McCarty, Michael Cohen and all our Oregon Health and Science University and Oregon State University and other collaborators for their contributions to this work.
