Every 2 seconds, someone in the United States needs blood or platelets.
This summer, the American Red Cross issued an urgent call for blood donations as supplies fell to critically low levels.
Blood shortages aren’t just statistics.
They impact real people, real families, and the hospitals working to save lives.
Throughout my life, I’ve been one of those people.
I’ve received multiple blood transfusions, sometimes requiring several pints of blood, so, I understand firsthand how important it is for blood to be available when someone needs it.
I often think about the strangers who donated blood without ever knowing whose life they might help save. I am here today, in part, because someone chose to give.
That’s why our partnership with the American Red Cross through the Run to Empower Entrepreneurs 5K means so much to me.
We’re not just bringing people together for a race.
