Alexander Misono: Venous Ultrasound and Early Intervention in Deep Vein Thrombosis
Alexander Misono, Chief of Interventional Radiology, Program Director at Hoag Health System, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“We have never been better at treating DVT. We are not much better at finding it.
Mechanical thrombectomy and the devices around it have advanced quickly. But every one of those tools depends on a patient being identified and correctly diagnosed first — and that step hasn’t kept pace.
Early intervention prevents progression to PE and reduces post-thrombotic syndrome, which is the outcome that quietly costs patients years of quality of life.
My IAC webinar on this: ‘Unlocking the Power of Venous Ultrasound and Intervention in Deep Vein Thrombosis.'”
