Alberto F. Chambi: Stroke and Cerebral Venous Thrombosis at High Altitude

Alberto F. Chambi, Physician, Neurosurgical and Cerebrovascular Research, shared a post on LinkedIn։

“I am pleased to share that two abstracts for which I am the first author have been accepted for digital poster presentation at the 2026 Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) Annual Meeting. I will serve as the presenting author for both studies.

Our research examines cerebrovascular disease in high-altitude populations in La Paz, Bolivia:

  • Stroke at High Altitude: Epidemiology, Clinical Predictors of In-Hospital Mortality, and the Thrombolytic Gap in La Paz, Bolivia (3,650 MASL) – A 9-Year Cohort Study
  • Cerebral Venous Thrombosis at High Altitude in La Paz: Clinical Severity and Impact of Deep Venous System Involvement in a Bolivian Cohort

These studies reflect my commitment to advancing cerebrovascular outcomes research and contributing evidence from high-altitude populations to the international neuroscience community.

I am grateful to my co-authors and collaborators for their contributions to both projects. I look forward to sharing our work and connecting with researchers in cerebrovascular neurosurgery, neurocritical care, and clinical outcomes research.

I am also seeking neurosurgery research fellowship opportunities in the United States and welcome opportunities to contribute to collaborative research teams.”
