Anirban Sen Gupta Presents Bioinspired Platelet Surrogates at MTEC
Anirban Sen Gupta, Wallace R. Persons Professor of Engineering in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, shared on LinkedIn:
”Very grateful for the opportunity to present our work on bioinspired platelet surrogates at MTEC | Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium Platelet SoT meeting in DC!
This endeavor has been supported over the years by NIH (National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute), and subsequently by Department of War Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), allowing us to advance the concepts and technologies from Project To Product towards potential clinical translation.
Amazing meeting organized by Lauren Palestrini, Mary Homer, Therese West, Andrew (Andre) Cap and their teams, covering platelet biology, current state-of-art in platelet transfusion and platelet-derived products in patient care, and new technologies that can be life-saving.
A huge thanks to the diligence and dedication of the Haima Therapeutics team in advancing our Synthetic Platelet technologies, originally developed at Case Western Reserve University Department of Biomedical Engineering, towards mission-critical hemorrhage control.”
