Anna A. Avagyan: Presenting Armenia’s Experience at SIOP Europe 2026
Anna A. Avagyan, Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist at Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”SIOP Europe 2026 was a great mix of strong science and real-world clinical discussion – the kind of meeting where you come back with new ideas, better questions, and renewed energy from the people around you.
This year, I presented a clinical case from our center in Armenia in the Young SIOP session on childhood cancer predisposition syndromes.
I shared our experience with therapeutic decision-making in a child with an underlying genetic predisposition and significant treatment vulnerability-highlighting how ‘host biology’ can redefine what is feasible and safe when standard pathways are limited.
SIOP-E was also a great chance to reconnect with the network and to meet new colleagues and friends.
Thank you to everyone involved in this patient’s care and to the wider community advancing pediatric oncology through collaboration and shared learning.
Special thanks to the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation Armenia for supporting my participation at SIOP Europe.”
