”Proud to share that UPMC Washington’s Stroke Program earned the American Heart Association‘s Gold Plus Award for the 16th consecutive year.
Two firsts made this quarter stand out.
We earned Target: Stroke Honor Roll recognition for the first time in our program’s history for our door-to-needle performance.
We also received Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll recognition for evidence-based care in our stroke patients with diabetes.
This is what happens when a team commits to getting a little better every month.
Our monthly stroke reviews, our push on door-to-needle times, and the quiet work of every nurse, coordinator, ED physician, and technologist behind each case all show up in outcomes like these.
Awards are nice.
What matters more is that a patient walking through our doors during a stroke gets faster, safer, evidence-based care than they did a year ago.
