Bernard Asare Acheampong: Demystifying Hemophilia in a Conversation with Dr. Divine Antwi
Bernard Asare Acheampong, Broadcast Journalist (Morning Show Co Host) at University of Energy and Natural Resources, shared on LinkedIn:
”Demystifying Hemophilia: A Conversation with Dr. Divine Antwi
Earlier today, I had the privilege of speaking with Dr. Divine Antwi, Senior House Officer, Child Health Department, Sunyani Teaching Hospital.
We broke down hemophilia – from causes and symptoms to diagnosis, treatment, and whether people can live normal lives with it.
Dr. Antwi handled every question with clarity, depth, and compassion.
From explaining the types of hemophilia to addressing dangerous symptoms, risk factors, and the role of families, he made complex medical knowledge accessible to all.
The lesson it taught me:
Young people are capable of excelling when given the opportunity.
Dr. Antwi, a senior house officer, showed mastery, poise, and a commitment to public education that rivals seasoned consultants.
Key takeaway:
Hemophilia is not contagious. It can be managed.
And with early diagnosis and proper care, patients can live full, productive lives.
Grateful to Dr. Antwi for his expertise and for helping us raise awareness on a condition many still misunderstand.
Healthcare education saves lives. And when we trust young professionals, they deliver.”
