Dhamirah Nazihah Mohd Nasiruddin: Reflecting on a Transformative Fellowship in Haemostasis and Thrombosis at Barts Health
Dhamirah Nazihah Mohd Nasiruddin, Quality Manager at Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Better late than never!
I’ve finally had a moment to look back on my incredible 6-month fellowship in Haemostasis and Thrombosis at the Royal London Hospital Barts Health NHS Trust (October 2025 – March 2026).
This journey was made possible by the generous grants from EAHAD European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD) and ISTH International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), and I am so grateful for their support.
Living and working in London was such a whirlwind. The environment at Barts Health is incredibly fast-paced, which really pushed me to grow and adapt every single day.
A huge thank you to the amazing consultants who mentored me:
Haemophilia Team: Priyanka Raheja, Suthesh Sivapalaratnam, Sean Platton, Janine Collins, Panagiotis Christoforou and Laura Aiken.
Thrombosis Team: Louise Bowles, Bariana Tadbir, and Angela Theodoulou.
You all taught me so much about practicing evidence-based medicine and staying curious about the latest research. Your dedication to your patients is something I’ll always admire.
I also want to give a special shout-out to the Haemostasis Lab staff and Timothy Farren. Thank you for letting me join you in the lab and teaching me the ‘ins and outs’ of the specialized tests you do at RLH.
From joining complex MDT discussions (Genomics, Lab, Haemophilia, and Thrombosis) to collaborating on research projects, every moment was a learning opportunity. I’m really looking forward to our future collaborations!
Now that I’m back in Malaysia, I’m already counting down the days until the ISTH Congress 2026 in Paris this July. I can’t wait to catch up with this wonderful team again!”
