Von Willebrand Disease as a Common Yet Under-Recognised Bleeding Disorder – EHC

European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Von Willebrand Disease (VWD) is one of the most common inherited bleeding disorders — yet it has remained under-recognised for 100 years.

While VWD affects men and women equally, women often experience the greatest impact: heavy menstrual bleeding, prolonged healing, and symptoms that are too often normalised or overlooked.

As part of our VWD 100 campaign, we’re proud to share this newly adapted video, originally created by the French Reference Centre for VWD (CRMW) in partnership with French Association of Hemophiliacs and MHEMO, the national French network for rare haemostasis diseases.

We are grateful to them for allowing us to bring this resource to a wider audience.

This is just one chapter of our year-long campaign shining a light on every facet of VWD throughout 2026.
